Shimon Apisdorf is the award-winning author of ten books that have been read by hundreds of thousands of people around the world. He is able to extract the essence of classical Jewish wisdom and show how it can be relevant to the essential issues facing the mind, heart and soul in today’s world. His writings speak poignantly, with rare sensitivity and with humor to people of all backgrounds.

In 2012, after seventeen years of long walks with his beloved wife Miriam along the water in Canton, Fells Point and Baltimore’s Inner Harbor; after feeding countless ducks with children and grandchildren, and going to Orioles games, Shimon and Miriam moved to Jerusalem. They would be happy to have you drop by for a visit.

About this Site

For years now, people have been accusing me of being insane.

I’m insane for not blogging, out-of-my-mind for not having a website, crazy for not doing the whole Social Media thing and flat out nuts for not writing more than just a book every year or two. So hear goes; my first blog, on my new website, that is all part of a concerted effort to, you know, crawl out of my shell and share the thoughts, rantings, reflections, diatribes, musings, perspectives and opinions I usually inflict solely on my family. In other words, welcome to our family.

As a member of the family you are free to listen, ignore, respond, ridicule, debate, mock and even, from time to time, seriously consider what I have to say. I plan on writing about the things that are most important to me in life: Family, God, the Jewish people, Judaism, Israel, occasionally sports, less occasionally politics, and random other stuff.
